After the run, we gather around the fire for a simple, traditional Finnish hot dog, before heading to Haltia Nature Centre for our first (optional!) group sauna experience, followed by a refreshing lake dip. Lunch is taken here, with time to relax or explore further—whether that’s stand-up paddle boarding on the lake or heading back into the forest on a fat tyre e-bike.

Today gives the legs a well-earned rest as we travel deeper into Norway’s landscapes. We begin with one of Europe’s most scenic train journeys, travelling from Oslo to Myrdal. The route climbs steadily through valleys, forests, and mountain plateaus, with ever-changing views that open out as we gain elevation.

From Myrdal, we board the historic Flåm Railway—one of the steepest railway lines in the world. The train descends through dramatic scenery, passing waterfalls, steep mountainsides, and narrow valleys as it winds its way down to the fjord.

In the afternoon, we continue by boat, cruising from Flåm to Gudvangen through the Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO-listed branch of the Sognefjord. Surrounded by steep cliffs, waterfalls, and quiet water, it’s a chance to take in the scale and stillness of the landscape from a different perspective.
